As a kid we would go on treasure hunts. We would have one of our friends set up a hunt with clues and some type of candy prize at the end. We would run from one clue to the next in order to get the candy. We laughed a lot and we enjoyed the candy.
Finding joy in our daily life can be challenging. We have things get in the way. One minute we are riding high on emotions. The next minute we are almost in tears because of insecurity or someone said something that breaks our heart. It seems so easy to go from happy to sad.
In Philippians 4:4-9 we run into a way to find joy no matter what is happening or what someone may say. We are encouraged to rejoice and we are encouraged to find the best in people and in situations. Finding joy is hard work that we need to do on a daily basis. Find joy, not fault. Find joy, not sadness. Find joy, not complaining.
